INTER-CITIC ENVIROTEC INC. ("ICI-V;ICENF-L")
- Development of the Centrifugal Flotation Cell

Lewis Lawrick, VP Corporate Communications of Inter-Citic Envirotec
Inc. would like to update investors on recent developments with regard to
its patented Centrifugal Floatation Cell technology as follows:
Inter-Citic Envirotec Inc. "the company" would like to announce that
it has received approval to test its Centrifugal Flotation Cell (CFC)
technology on an in plant basis in the first quarter of 1998. The site of
this initial commercial test of CFC is the Anvil Range Mining Corporation's
mineral processing facility located near Faro, Yukon. The in plant test
will be done with the full co-operation of Anvil Range Mining Corporation
under the direction of Srdj Bulatovic a Consulting Metallurgist with
Lakefield Research. The CFC is a value added mining industry technology
developed by Inter-Citic that has been extensively laboratory tested,
exhibiting enhanced recovery for fine sulfide particles. This in plant test
arrangements represents the first of several such arrangements that the
company is currently working toward. More importantly, in plant testing of
the CFC represents a significant step before full commercialization of the
CFC technology. The company is confident that the pilot plant testing of
the CFC will validate its position as a value added mining technology where
no competitive alternative exists. The demand for a technology within the
mineral processing industry that can improve mineral recovery levels and
hence project economics is high.
Inter-Citic is also pleased to announce that under its previously
released agreements with the Beijing General Mining and Metallurgical
Corporation (GEMCO), manufacture of the CFC test prototype is near
completion. Upon completion, GEMCO will proceed with pilot plant testing of
the unit at a facility within the People Republic of China (PRC). Upon
completion of successful testing GEMCO will undertake commercial
development of the CFC in the PRC whereby Inter-Citic will receive an
over-riding royalty per installation. GEMCO is controlled by the China
National Non-Ferrous Metal Corporation, and is responsible for the supply
of over 85% of the improvements to newly built or renovated mineral
processing plants in the PRC.
Inter-Citic Envirotec Inc. is a B.C corporation, the shares of which
are traded publicly on the Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) under the ticket
symbol ICI.
