Nokia Can’t Stop Teasing PureView Coming To Windows Phone

It always seemed a bit odd that Nokia would debut its cutting-edge PureView imaging technology on a Symbian handset, a platform with one foot already in the grave. It didn’t take long for rumors to start spreading about the chances for the company to release a Windows Phone model with just as impressive a camera as the 808. Back in June, we heard from company exec Chris Webber that it was working on just such a project, though we didn’t get much detail. It’s looking like Nokia may be planning to reveal the fruits of its efforts quite soon, at least according to the company’s latest tease from its Twitter account.

Responding to a user post speculating about PureView coming to the next Lumia, Nokia writes, “just keep your eyes and ears open in the next coming weeks….”

Well, in the coming weeks we have both Nokia World, as well as the company’s joint event with Microsoft scheduled for September 5. We’re hoping to get a look at Nokia’s new lineup of Windows Phone 8 handsets then, and seeing at least one arrive with a PureView camera of its own would just be the icing on the cake.
