This may help explain some of the mystery. Carefully measured, as always.... Our goal: to touch the thick red line, or at least to get in the space between the thin blue line and the thick red line. What we need: to get above the thin blue line. Edit: SPX 1426 seems to have many of the requirements for a short term top. However, it fails in at least one requirement, I think ..... and that requirement is for a strong top.
