Well .. there is some real PR work that needs to be done.

Currently 49% of citizens believe the police represent a threat to their own personal safety.

I said it. There aren't many that would. I have to wonder about my personal safety after making statements like that.

People are beginning to record police activities. The reaction from the perceived threat is for the public to document abuse when they see it.

Which is why there is ANY video evidence at all. The person recording this event placed themselves at great risk.

The action itself seems to me to be a clear example of excessive force. But it's easy to judge after the fact.

And I don't believe every cop is a monster lurking to violate everyone they can.

This instant response is a matter of improper training.

The improper training is a threat to public safety.
