Not sure if I posted this here before. There are always requests for my wife to bring her famous beans along for our annual family camping trip. A great dish for the summer to accompany macaroni or potato salads, corn on the cob, hamburgers, etc.

Homemade Baked Beans

3 cups of dried white navy beans (soaked overnight or boiled for one hour)
1-1/2 cup ketchup
1-1/2 cup water
1/4 cup molasses
1 large onion chopped
1 tbsp dry mustard
1 tbsp salt
6 slices of uncooked side bacon chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 cup brown sugar

Place all ingredients in slow cooker.
Cook for 8 - 10 hours on low.
Stir occasionally if possible (not necessary).
The beans also freeze well.

Works well to boil beans at night before bed, then start the cooker in the morning.
My wife is quite generous with the bacon, typically using 1/2 pound.
