8/24/12 Contest Update
For most of the week, investors were too timid to click the buy button but their courage had revived by Friday.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 35.70% YTD (vs. up 35.66% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 30.26% YTD (vs. up 27.66% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 17.84% YTD (vs. up 18.10% YTD a week ago).
DONS’ portfolio, up 91.90% YTD, bounded over the 90% threshold to take back the Contest lead. DONS was the sole contestant picking Threshold (THLD) and it is currently the Contest’s top pick with an astounding 554% YTD gain! RKRW's portfolio, up 84.70% YTD, dropped back to second place and NP1986’s portfolio, up 69.04% YTD, moved into third place.
At Friday's close, 3 of the 38 Contest portfolios remained in the red, with 23 of the 38 portfolios still beating the NBI.
