I agree that expectations appear they are WAY too high...

I think success in implementing change, for MSFT, will likely depend on changing the tilt of the playing field...

Not very many ways you can accomplish that... short of controlling a truly revolutionary technological thingamabob... that matters enough that it can shift markets...

So, call it maybe two ways... three if you still want to count the old "they just made a really good product that the market just had to have"...

I don't think they can accomplish that without doing exactly the opposite of what the articles posted today suggested... in terms of their advocating for sounding a retreat. I think I should see that in the context that MSFT has existential risks every bit as significant as those being faced by NOK right now... with NOK having been enlisted into playing the role of canary in the coal mine.

And, then, even if one or more of that "opposite of a retreat" series of events happens... and the effort is a success, the result still might look a lot like MSFT throwing NOK under the bus. The difference then would be that with the body of NOK as evidence, MSFT might get a judgment or two like that AAPL won today... from each and every one of the carriers... and those who've been cooperating with them to impose the illegal cartels that are controlling market access.

Isn't there something else happening around the same time as these events will be unfolding, this year ?

Oh, yeah... there's an election in the U.S. ?

I wonder who the new HMFWIIC at DOJ will be ?

All just useful to consider... in analyzing the context in which this will play out...

Perhaps none of that will matter...
