I tried my best, earlier this evening to answer the question from John you answered and you did a much better job with 1/10th of the words. You hit the nail on the head.

And, my answer to Honey Bee's further question is simply that it is the pattern that immigrants have followed for, at least, the past 100 years. However, where I grew up in the Country in the NW most people forgot about customs because we all had to work together to survive.
