Boost W8 all you want. I benefit big time from it. Why do you thing I got that large of a Nokia position to begin with and continued to add. Cause I believe the world needs a 3rd platform and I believe Windows Phone could be it. But the verdict does not amount to a hill of beans as far as denting Android. In fact, and not many paid Apple media are talking about it - I wonder why - Apple lost all the iPad design patents that they asserted against Samsung's Galaxy Tabs. And mind you, the galaxy Tabs were more of a hardware copy of the iPad than any phone was a hardware copy of the iPhone. Yet the jury found that Samsung did not copy the iPad with their Galaxy Tab. So in a market where Apple currently hold a commanding market share, they lost.
They also lost internationally where the Korean court ruled that Samsung did not copy the iPhone or the iPad. So Apple lost all the iPad design patents they asserted against Galaxy tab in both international courts and domestic one. And they lost the iPhone design patents they asserted against old Samsung models internationally but won them domestically. Most of those models are not even available, so an injunction will have very little affect on Samsung. Everything else can be designed around, both hardware wise and software wise, and the new Samsung models like the Galaxy SIII have done exactly that.
If I were Apple, I would be worried cause I just lost my iPad design patents that I have been fighting all over the world. If I were Samsung, I would raise my prices on Apple parts a few cents to recover the $1 billion verdict.
And if I were Nokia, I would try and put a splash of color and some text on the stupid monochromatic icons of the metro screen, to try and get any sort of sales traction on my new WP8 phones. Cause as it currently stands, the metro screen sucked in 7.5 and will continue to suck in 8, unless some small changes are made. Text and color on icons/tiles is #1 priority. Using the metro screen require a lot more user brain function than using Android or iPhone because tiles mostly all look the same. They are monochromatic with just simplistic icons. No color or shadows or 3D depth. It's awful. Adding a spash of color as well as text for the name of the app on the time will go a long way to making the metro screen prettier and easier to use. Cause as it currently stands, it sucks. And no verdicts or jury awards against Samsung will change that. And that's not me saying that. It is users, reviewers and carrier sales people. |
