Regardless of how I feel, I also know that Obama just isn't "American". He was raised in Hawaii, and Indonesia. I'm sure not knocking Hawaii and yes, it is most certainly part of the USA, but it isn't "mainland, lower 48, America", and the culture there is much more polynesian/pacific islander. He grew up not actually seeing people go through school and become successful through hard work. Indonesian culture didn't support such a society, nor work to support the same ideals, and Hawaii just wasn't "mainland American".
He never really lived in "America" until he started college .. He had spent his life somewhere else, essentially in foreign cultures, and listening to his Anti-capitalist mother, communist grandparents, such 'mentors' as Davis, .... so his entire childhood was, in essence, Un-American and even Anti-American.
The man does not understand the real America. He has never really experienced America. He has no sense of America and how the American culture rewards hard work with success and prosperity. All he knows, from his upbringing, is that capitalism is evil, the rich got that way from taking advantage of the working poor, and someone has to be the one to set these errors right ... and get the money back to the working poor, since they really are the ones who earned it and had it taken by the evil rich.
I certainly am not making excuses for the man - far from it. Just pointing out that yes, he is 'Un-American", because he just wasn't raised as a real "American" - and in fact was raised to believe Americans - capitalists- are evil, and something to be destroyed, if the world is ever to be 'fair'. He had "Anti-American" sentiment drilled into him from birth to college. Once in college, he quickly gravitated toward the socialist, communist, Anti-American students and professors, and just continued to grow and absorb Un-American and Anti-American views and culture.
This is a big reason he is not qualified to be our president, and I believe, a huge reason the forefathers had the 'natural born' part entered into the qualifications to seek the presidency.
Obama just simply is not, and does not understand what it means to be truly an American.
Michelle is another whole story unto herself ... she has no 'foreign' childhood to fall back on or consider. She's just simply Anti-American, bitter, and has an obsessive entitlement attitude. |
