You, know, there are a bunch of texting apps available for unjailbroken iPhones.
No there are not, unfortunately, or I wouldn't have jailbroken. If you look at them, you'll find they are messaging apps in a "whats app" kind of way,a nd they interact awkwardly with the stock SMS app.
A simple search for SMS on the App Store turned them up easily.
It turns up apps that at first glance are SMS replacements, but in actuality, arent and have many issues.
And you can send emoticons using the basic Messages app. Just install the Emoji keyboard.
Fair enough I'll check that out and see how it works, when I quickly looked before, you seemed to have to switch between different keyboards, when all I wanted was a handful of emoticons accessed directly from the main keyboard,as I now can do with my replacement SMS app. (BiteSMS - a million downloads and yet jailbroken phones only?? Its got to have something going for it other than people can't search the app store and find an SMS app :-) give people credit :-)
