Have you considered giving Apple your feedback at the Apple Feedback page? In your case, I'd use the iPhone Feedback section. Already done, but not holding my breath, I've done it before for other apps (iPhoto for example), but with millions of devices out there, many held by people who have no appreciation of what they are missing and therefore not going to raise a request, its less than a drop in the ocean. And its not as if Apple cant see what is happening, isnt each purchase of an app for a JB phone, in effect a enhancement request that someone has shown they are willing to go through a lot of hassle and spend money for??
I think Apple should be taking the lead to understand what consumers want, what is best, and give it to them. Didn't SJ say something to that effect? And when there are unarguably far superior texting apps out there (for example, Handcent on Android and BiteSMS on iPhone JB, each with millions of users, its not as if Apple can say there is no demand for these features, or that they didnt know you could do that.
Trouble is the math doesnt work in the favour of doing anything at all, Apple could have probably got at least $10M by allowing BiteSMS to be sold in the app store, but thats not even a rounding error in the Samsung case. |
