Top executives at Samsung Electronics Co.'s SSNLF +5.36% telecom division huddled in what reports described as an emergency strategy meeting Sunday after a U.S. court's decision to award Apple Inc. AAPL +0.09%$1.05 billion in damages in the two firms' patent lawsuits against each other. Sunday's meeting at the telecom division's headquarters in Suwon, South Korea, and chaired by the company's vice chairman, focused on how the company would go forward after what it saw a heavy legal defeat, reports said. "It's absolutely the worst scenario for us," the Korea Times quoted an unidentified a senior Samsung executive as saying as he headed to Sunday's meeting.
