Even Ben B will not be able to save the equity markets from a war involving Iran. This is no Libya or Syria. This would be a very destabilizing event with many uncertainties and markets do not like those kind of uncertainties.

Additionally, unlike the Iraq war which was telegraphed far in advance and was fully expected, an Israeli strike with its unknown ramifications is not currently factored into equity prices.

If I was expecting a strike within weeks, I would certainly not be long equities.
