The last thing people in need should have to do, is go begging to a church. My god, what is the matter with your thinking? And what can the church do for a person dying of cancer or needing a hip replacement? Have a cake sale?

Medicare and social security provide exactly what people need and they can retain their dignity and their values. Half the people in the counry rely almost soley on them.

Before we had social security and medicare old people (especially women) too often lived in misery and abject poverty. We tried the churches for 2,000 years and they didn't work well.

Social security and medicare was the first time old people had the care and security old people needed.

Social security pulled so many old women out of poverty it is amazing. And where were the churches then?

You apparently have not figured that out.
