Interesting company, and a seemingly good balance sheet with a fair dividend yield. I've seen many times the pursuer coming back to the table. In the toy business. One important thing worth mentioning here is the almighty Christmas Selling season. If it's a good one for JAKK. IMO- It could be such a trigger to bring them back. I'm sure you know the toy business is a very faddish & seasonal business. RE:BOOM/BUST You must have remembered Coleco & Cabbage patch kids and the Ty_Inc. Beanie babies craze. You must also have remembered 4Kids Entertainment. Companies like Mattel and Hasbro have traditional mainstays. IMO- A company like JAKK might be more tied to current popularity and a comeback of boomer favorites. A pipeline of new products is most important. Niche acquisitions and favorable licensing deals bring in such products. JAKK seem to be working on some from what I saw. If they can get the new must have toy, they will not need a takeover. I once owned Topps & Marvel Entertainment stock. We sold Marvel Comics & Topps baseball cards at our retail store before the craze peaked. Interesting note. Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner ended up buying the Topps company and Disney buying Marvel Entertainment. You might find the link below interesting. I think you will find its kind of tied into JAKK. Another interesting point- MAT and HAS both pay a higher dividends and are trading near their 52 week highs without takeover speculation.
