Nokia (NYSE:NOK) is up 26 cents to $3.33 on speculation the negative ruling for Samsung will be a longer-term positive for Nokia. Nokia shares are up and options volume on the stock is running 2X the daily average. 62,000 calls and 72,000 puts traded in NOK through midday. The top trade is a 14,750-contract block of April 1.5 puts traded at 14 cents per contract when the market was 14 to 16 cents. 15,000 now traded against only 20 in open interest. Some investors are possibly writing the 1.5 puts on Nokia on the view shares will hold above that level (which is 55 percent below current prices) and, since they are writing puts, they are also willing to buy (have put) the stock at that price. Meanwhile, September 3.5 calls are the most actives in NOK today. 19,500 contracts have changed hands.
