The man reminds me of a superbly trained, totally disciplined, and extraordinarily competent prize fighter. He knows exactly when, where and how to move, when and where to jab and when and where to cross, or upper cut. His 'ring presence' is just natural, smooth, and overwhelming. He is one of those rare birds who can think three steps ahead of himself, can provide his own segues and transitions, and is totally and completely aware of everything and everyone around him.
Guys like that are few and far between. They're the natural born leaders. The ones who light up a room the instant they walk in, without having to say a word.
West is one of those. And I hope we can get him in one of our 'higher echelon' slots real soon. Reality is, if we did, the press would crucify him daily, for breathing, if nothing else.
Sadly, this country will most likely never see a truly great leader again.
And yes, when he reached for his notes, a true classic. My guess he didn't really need them, and could have recited the facts without them .. but it was much more impressionable that he reach in and drag out all that information .. just like "that". |
