Have you heard of or considered managing "by walking around"?
I don't think that this applies to "playing golf".

You walk around the office and talk with your subordinates and co-workers.
You golf with your golfing buddies.

I would agree that the President should take some time to spend outdoors
But that could be hiking or running

or clearing brush on the ranch


or riding horses.
