Your definition of "commutable" is getting really stretched. :)

Talked to my friend who's looking for house. He won't buy Lawrence or Lynn and won't even think about NH. 1 hour commute is a no-no for him.

Yes, there are people who commute 1-2 hours each way. I cannot understand how they manage.

Overall market is interesting. There are houses that sell fast with multiple offers. There are still houses that stay unsold for half-year+. And I can't say I see big distinction in prices or quality between the two. But then I'm not looking very deeply, just hanging out with a friend who's looking. :)
