I don't know very much about arbitrage.....what I have learned is incomplete....I don't understand the thinking behind shorting the acquirer and going long the acquired.....and I don't understand to what proportion these positions should be taken......I have found that it is those situations that I don't understand that cost me the most money!

I like WCOM a lot......I have owned the company and have made a lot of money from that ownership....I am currently out of the stock because I am using my money to make a bigger return elsewhere at the moment.....However, I see myself getting back in somewhere in the next few weeks to possibly as long as 2 months...My thinking is somewhat foggy on whether buying MCIC would be a better play at this late date or not....any ideas would be greatly appreciated.....also any ideas on how I can educate myself on the thinking and strategies of arbitrage would also be appreciated....

Thanks in Advance

Tim
