It may sound unlikely but it is not unusual to find in unexplored areas right on surface world class deposits . In the Brazilian province of Para the world richest iron ore deposit was found some years back right on surface . A helicopter carrying some US steel Geologists ran out of fuel and had to land on a remote hill top . The guys on board got out and started chipping rocks as they like to do . Too easy ! Could Machado Ridge be more prolific than we can imagine ? Bummer if it isn't .
