Either you don't know Ron Paul or you don't understand Ayn Rand as your statement is false.

You may not know this but Ayn Rand has been a significant influence among libertarians and American conservatives.. Ron Paul named his son Rand after Ayn Rand. Paul Ryan has said that reading The Fountainhead and Atlas shrugged inspired him to go into politics. He makes everyone that works for him read her books.

Ayn Rand philosophy states that compassion is immoral. You will have a very difficult time convincing me that anyone admiring Ayn Rand's core values can be taken seriously.
