The NC Dept of Education proposed last year to only require teaching American History from the civil war forward. Well, to the states citizens' credit a furor erupted and te proposal was quickly shelved, but possibly some other states have adopted this for their curriculums--in which case the American Revolution wouldn't be part of the American History High School Course.
