Attrition is the only answer. As government workers retire and die, don't fill the open positions. Then start moving the remaining government workers around similar to how poker tables are reduced and filled during a tournament.

Any other approach will have liberals screaming about the evil job killers. And the public would react accordingly.

Realistically, we could turn this country around in 30 or 40 years. Too long to be meaningful for anybody here on SI, but for our children and grandchildren it would provide a vibrant country with many opportunities.
