I am without power since Tuesday thanks to hurricane but office building opened today with full services and I am enjoying a/c, etc. Water OK so no problems there. No problems with food, either

I promised myself to get a natgas generator after Katrina, but of course the need faded as did the memory and was caught.

It was a brief hiatus from the markets though I occassionally looked.

How stupid are things when the entire world is on tenterhooks, waiting for a speech a central banker who is on record as stating 'not yet' on QE? Why should he change?

Markets are incredibly fraudulent, though not intentionally so. The fraud lies in the media, who are manipulated to do this that and the other while the insiders profit.

Faber's speech in Dubai to the the hedge funders is really where the truth lies. There is no choice in the long term but to print. It all flows from that inescapable truth.

It's imperative to get away from markets every now and then and absorb things to the core without the noise of day-to-today BS. I thank Isaac for that.

Hope all is well with you.

Edit: Bernanke said this: “The costs of nontraditional policies, when considered carefully, appear manageable, implying that we should not rule out the further use of such policies if economic conditions warrant,”

Which is exactly what he has been saying, in one form or another, for months. Reminds me of a great old Mexican song in which a young girl is given the following advice re: suitors: "Tell everyone 'yes', just don't tell them when."
