Price and commitment. Price doesn't require explanation. Commitment is that Samsung realizes they are a cell phone company, and brings out multiple products, at every level, all year. Apple doesn't think they are a cell phone company, they think they are a consumer products company, so they bring out one phone a year... like it or leave it.

You can argue the case for either strategy. But Apple's taking over 50% of the industry profits. Can you explain that? If Apple had a 1% market share and took >50% of industry profits would that be a bad thing?

(Sustainable, we'll see).
