The Pause That Doesn't Refresh

The frustrated author could not complete the sentence. It hung there after the comma, unresponsive - commatose.

Like you, he groaned at that. After pacing the floor anxiously, sweating, hoping, the sentence finally recovered. It would end its life fulfilled, just like this story.
