Buy a 5 or 10 pack of blank DVD - R discs and backup your purchases. If you lose them iTunes will not let you download them again. I have enough iTunes to fill a DVD disc. Then when I back them up, I put it into my other computers for back up, and sometimes I listen them on the other computers if my main one is busy. It does not take that long to back up your purchases. It's pretty quick and restoring is fast as well.

You are allowed to have 5 computers with your music on them.

You are looking at about 15 - 20 minutes work, with the computer doing 90% of it.
