Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested by the mother and father of U.S. Army Specialist Mabry J. Anders, to pay our respects and render honors for his arrival home and for his funeral service. Specialist Anders was lost to enemy small arms fire, along with a fellow soldier, when his unit was attacked in Laghman Province, Kalagush, Afghanistan on 27 August. He was a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, assigned to the 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, whose home base is Fort Carson, Colorado. Mabry joined the US Army on 5 January, 2010. He deployed to Afghanistan on 10 March, 2012. His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Nato Defense Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terror Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge.
