Poverty is a consequence, not a cause. Any number of people start in poverty and achieve greatness. Nobody starts with no brain and achieves greatness. Poverty is just a problem to overcome and quite a motivator at that. Lack of brain is like missing eyes - no amount of trying to see will result in sight.

The reason poverty is given such importance is that people ignore dire warnings about the seven cardinal sins, and suffer envy of those with money. The see that children of well off parents do better than those from poor parents and confuse the result with the cause. They are unintelligent so do not understand the difference between correlation and causation.

Especially these days, with stupendously vast amounts of information freely available on-line, any knowledge is available to anybody. Money and location are irrelevant these days. Traveling to cities, renting expensive accommodation, buying expensive text books and hiring expensive lecturers are unnecessary. Click in Cyberspace and all is revealed. Let's try Fourier Transforms for example. Instantly, Google and Wikipedia give: en.wikipedia.org There's any amount of other information about it.
