Hans, I see Jim Kary did his usual great job responding. Did the genius at the "highly respected" BA ROBERTSON STEPHENS mention that almost all alternatives to high end computer hardware are from the US or pay royalties to IBM for every system they sell? I said "almost all" alternatives, but am personally unaware of any exceptions. IMHO the ugly choice is buy dollar-denominated hardware, settle for second best or do without. Since the HW is needed to remain competitive in the global market place, my guess is that there will not be many customers doing without. Scott
