That's what Romney and Ryan put out. The RNC speakers just rounded it to 4 years thinking they were using an updated version of Reagan's debate line.

I don't think they intentionally used bad math; they're just loose with numbers and facts.

Like the lie about Ryan's marathon best time. I would not be surprised if he told a few people about it, like when guys are dating and exaggerate. I'd like to know Janna's reaction to him saying he should have rounded the 2 hours fifty something to 4 hours. Maybe it was 4:29.
