SSDs vs mechanical HDD question...

Has anybody here decided to just forgo mechanical
drives and go with SSDs, no matter the chipset/motherboard?
(I know the data rate will be slower on H61, but surely it will
still work okay?)

I haven't been lurking here lately, sorry to barge in, this
might be an old question asked and answered.

So...I bought a 'refurbished' Asus H61 motherboard online
just now* and am thinking I might just pair it with an SSD rather
than mechanical drive (slower, but SSDs are cheap enough now).

So far I've googled 'h61 ssd ahci' and will figure it out myself
in the next day or two, but any comments appreciated before
I start my reading, thanks!

fwiw...
As far as I can tell the Intel G540 for $40 on ebay
(with free shipping!) is the very best value in a CPU
right now, anybody feel differently?

Here is that mainboard (I have one of these already, one without the LE/CSM
designation, not sure what that really means.
