Note on net " CF John Mayberry Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Mayberry is hitting .306 with six home runs and 15 RBI in 31 games since the Phillies traded fellow outfielders Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino." That is interesting. This the best run he has ever had when playing every day. he is and Kratz a big reason Phils are 8 or 9 games above 500 since all-star break in spite of trades of Pence and Victorino and loss of Ruiz.
Phils are likely keeping Ruiz out for the season, on a risk/reward basis(they found he had a slight fracture in his foot aside from Plantar's Fascistis.(Ruiz wants to return).
That swing and miss by Glavis, i finally read what happened, he FRACTURED his back. He will not be available to Phils but he is set to play in Winter Baseball.
Real good news, Phils maligned Minor league teams had a great year. They have a 2nd basemen that they say fields as good as Glavis and also a solid hitter, name Cesar Hernandez.
Utley as worked out 3rdBase and says he is thinking of returning to 3rd base--the position where he started.
Glavis and Hernandez look like the eventual replacement for Rollins and Utley.
Worley out for season with inflamed elbow(that is no surprise, it was pretty obvious he was struggling)
Phillippe Aumont when told he was to be the closer yesterday said "My needs BUCKLED!" They said relax, you can do it, so i tried to think i was at Lehigh Valley.
Red Sox are in collapse--lost 7 in row and are now 12 games below 500.
