Greg - Everyone seems to be saying the sub 1K PC is obsolete the day it gets taken home! BUT, I'm writing this on a 486/DX2 PC bought in 1993, and it runs my real time quote system and the Internet just fine! I plan to continue using it for some time to come, and I also consider myself fairly knowledgeable in the PC area. The point is that for many folks a 200mhz Pentium (units being sold now are upgradeable for around 900-1000 bucks) is plenty! I've seen Meat's updates to the effect that '128meg is not enough', and chuckle when he says that! (Meat - no offense intended, I enjoy your posts). I don't think the average sub 1k buyer is thinking about adding a scanner (SCSI is no longer necessary, you can do parallel port anyway - Visioneer 6000 is a nice product), or a tape backup, or what have you. I think they are looking to get MSFT Office and the Internet. John
