Absolutely, African American's and Latino's are quite conservative. Very few liberals. But the Republican's have beat the shit out of both groups forever and the liberals have always stood with them, so they go with the dems.

And it goes way beyond immigration.

It goes back to Bobby Kennedy's friendship with Ceaser Chaves and the willingness of liberals to fight for farm workers unions. All unions.

And the liberals marching with MLK and fighting to end segregation.
