I might have been state champ in Kansas or Maine. I was second fastest on my B team, to a kid a year behind me, and 4th in the league finals. California had a whole lot of very fast kids. The really fast ones all lived in SoCal. Lots of talent. It's a sub 4 minute pace, but the bear jumped on my back around 500 yards, and it prolly would have taken me 40 seconds for the 4th 220. A fifth would not happen.
