The debts will be abrogated and there will be some pay cuts and hey presto, just like in Ireland, everyone will carry happily on but without the debts.

NZ owes $200 billion or something like that. I feel no obligation to take part in repaying those debts. They were not incurred by me and I vote against wastrels doing what wastrels do. I do not intend to work hard and will not be starving because we refuse to repay creditors.

The Auckland City Council is wanting to spend $billions on a ridiculous underground train track a couple of kilometres long, which will have almost nobody on it. They will likely borrow the money. The creditors should watch out because I will not repay the loans and there will not be sufficient revenue to cover operating costs let alone depreciation, maintenance and certainly not the debt.
