Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 device looks sure to outshine the Samsung Ativ S, even though Samsung tried to steal a march by announcing its own device ahead of schedule.

The Lumia 920 is bold, feels ineffably premium and looks great, and for the first time we can truly see Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS as a viable alternative to Android and iOS.

Samsung’s Ativ S is a good device, make no mistake, but with the Lumia 920 Nokia has shown that there are some serious fringe benefits to being Microsoft’s partner.
