RE: SparQ Channel Check - Arlington, TX.

I don't recall seeing any confirmation here on the thread that SparQ is actually now in the channel. I saw some tonight at Fry's in Arlington, TX.

SyQuest has an end-cap with EZ-230 ($149), SyJet ($299), and SparQ ($199). There were about 10 Parallel SparQ's. (No other versions.) There was also a full pallet of EZ-230's on the floor. There are no SparQ disks available for at least another week. The clerk told me that they would be about $25 each in a five-pack (first I've heard of a five-pack!), or $35 each individually.

Incidentally, Iomega had two end-caps. One showcased Jaz and Zip, while the other was entirely Zip Plus. There were also a couple partial pallets of Zip and Zip Plus on the floor. There were plenty of Zip Disks on the shelves.

Trufflette: You should reconsider your short on SYQT. If SYQT goes bankrupt a couple years from now, you've only made 100% on your money in a two-year period. You can do better than that (can't you?)! (Or do you think that they'll go under sooner than that?)
