I meant this in a broader sense. As far as pot goes... I've seen many people lose their health and lives because of alcohol and cigarettes. Ive seen some die from hard drugs. Can't recall seeing anyone get into serious health trouble with pot.

There is a concern that marijuana is an "entry drug" and leads to hard drugs. But I don't know if that was ever clearly established. I agree with Bill - throwing thousands of people in jail for pot is wrong. Probably, some form of decriminalization along the lines of what they did in Portugal would make sense at this time.

The line between fighting drugs - and keeping the people who are doing the fighting gainfully employed - can be fuzzy.
