Conclusion

The Nokia Lumia 820 is definitely a mid-range phone. It is not so impressive, not in any way you look at it. It comes with a microSd card slot, which though pretty cool, is something that other phones also have.

The detachable battery is something new from a Windows Phone device but not from other devices. The rounded body allows for easy pocket storage, but the casings are not so premium looking.

To compensate for the lack of the unibody design, Nokia made this phone with swappable covers. The best cover is the one that allows for wireless charging.

One advantage that goes for the Nokia Lumia 820 is its smaller screen that allowed it to be more compact and handy than the Nokia Lumia 920. But if you are looking for a good browsing larger screen, again, it is better to opt for the Lumia 920.

All in all, if you are going to compare the Nokia Lumia 820 with the first Nokia Lumia devices and the Nokia Lumia 920, it will come out as a copycat that did not copy well. In a way, it is a downgraded version of the Lumia 800. It also comes second to its brother, the Nokia Lumia 920. Without the PureView technology, the Lumia 820 will simply be a functional phone.

But if the price is right, then the Nokia Lumia 820 might actually make it to the Christmas wish list of some people.

I can just hear the sales pitch...

"Forget about the new iPhone and the new Samsung. Here, look at this weird phone with stupid tiles on it. No, none of your apps will work on it but doncha just LOVE the back cover colors? You can change them, for a fee!"
