Can you think of a single benefit Nokia get by being tied to Microsoft?

Avoiding Android where Samsung is taking all the share? At least with WP8 they have a shot at being the top dog in that ecosystem. With Android they'll always be a step behind Samsung and now Moto, owned by Google.

It's not a pleasant choice; two things have to go right. WP8 has to sell well, and Nokia has to win against the others starting at zero. But I think it's better than trying to climb out of the Android hole from zero market share.
