>>I do disagree with your thesis below. I keep asking someone to tell me a contemporary conservative intellectual with a viable philosophy. No one ever does. Except Brooks-g. Look at the clown car of nominee's they presented to the nation. Half cretins and have nuts. <<

By far the best illustration that comes to mind is Robert Nozick, a Harvard philosophy professor. en.wikipedia.org.

Definitely the leading libertarian philosopher from the 70s forward. Not Ayn Rand. I seem to recall he taught wildly popular classes with John Rawls in which each argued his position. I had more than a few friends who made a point of attending some of his classes.

I'm told that Harvey Mansfield, a Harvard professor of government, is such. I don't know his work but friends who know it, consider it first rate as a body of work.

I suspect that if I did a bit of work I could create a longish list. But I'm a bit too busy to do so. And not particularly interested in doing so. We simply disagree that all political wisdom is liberal.
