It never gets tried! The economy is not like a chemistry experiment where you can propose and then test. Economics is a blend of philosophies. It would be great to test Krugmans ideas, but I would make a big wager you would be more than a little disappointed. Dr. Paul would like to try his ideas too, so would Ryan, but the very best any of these ideas get is a chance to nibble at the edges of the economy. Why is that? Because in our world, politics is a part of the game. And politics dictates the end game.
