Hi Tom and welcome to the thread. I have one of those "small professor's salaries" too but have amassed a few hundred thou in assets as a result of a buy and hold mentality that Frank stresses. I have an original buy price on intc of about 15 and it has split twice since my first purchase. If you get in now it might be flat for a while but in the next surge it could move 30-40% in a flash. We have all experienced this and as a result have absolute faith in the stock. Of course we could all be wrong and the market may punish us, but it is better to get into intc, cpq etc. now than at the prices we enjoyed a few months ago.

BTW if you are up between 15 and 42% you have had an extraordinary year.

Good luck.
