George,

I couldn't agree more. Ancor has to realize that at this point, their technology leadership won't automatically translate into sales. As you suggest, companies without a compelling need for Class 1 or Arbitrated Loop will find that switches from either company will work fine, since there is no longer a significant price differential. Unfortunately, a good percentage of the mind share battle has already been won by Brocade. That can be changed, and the technology built into every MKII will certainly help, but Ancor has to take the message to the masses.

I do think the marketing effort from Ancor has improved markedly, but I'm still not satisfied that they are doing enough. Of course they will continue to be judged by the standard set by Brenda Christensen, and that is not an easy standard to compete against.

I hope my recent disparaging comments about the Ancor marketing effort aren't mis-interpreted. They are meant as constructive criticisms. I sincerely want this company to succeed, and I have a vested interest in seeing that they are successful. (Most of us do.) The difference in the marketing effort is simply the most glaring difference between the two companies at this point in time.

Craig
