"Nokia will be just fine. There are too many interests lined up to make it succeed. QCOM, once a bitter enemy and the reason behind Nok's failure in the US imho, is now backing it strongly. MSFT too for obvious reasons. Telcos as well, needing a fractured marketplace instead of a duopoly. That's a lot of heavyweights with a vested interest. "

The issue is... none of those "heavyweights" have any ability that matters to FORCE consumers to buy crap that doesn't work... or stuff that doesn't appeal to them... for whatever reason. So, even if the only reason is that they shat themselves with the release, and focused all kinds of effort on lining up the "systemic support"... but still forgot to make a phone that anyone will actually WANT... ???

It's not all NOK's fault... because the industry is pretty screwed up... with imbalance in the market imposed by carriers... who don't have a reason I can see to have any impact at all on which phones consumers buy...
