I remember that VIX discussion.

I was home and just waking up when my mother in law called and said "we are under attack! they attacked new york city!". I turned the TV on and watched in stunned silence. I cried when they started reporting jumpers. And it took my breath away when the first tower fell.

JXN was two years old and I was thinking how his world would be very different from the one that I grew up in .

I was scheduled to fly the following day. obviously that trip was cancelled. But I flew a week later. And I can tell you that the mood at the airport was surreal. I showed up early, anticipating long lines at security. But there still weren't too many people willing to fly at that point.
